Neville Eldred Smith
My career as an educator started at Wakefield Technical & Art College and Batley School of
Art & Design. I moved to Nottingham Trent University and became the Course Leader for
Foundation Studies before eventually teaching on the Photography Degree Course.
I have exhibited widely in the UK and Europe with work in many public and private collections.

“The work is dealing with ‘absence and presence’ in a space that is neither ‘here’ or ‘there’ and somewhat ephemeral.
The fragmented space through the de-construction process is obscured and returned, erased and overlaid creating an image that seem unstable and uncertain. In the work there is an indeterminacy, a liminal state in which something is not clearly defined or perhaps impossible to define. “
