Paul Cochrane

Street Gallery was set up by Eleanor Matthews, an artist who lives in ex-mining town Seaham, County Durham. She set up Street Gallery to connect artists and communities during the covid-19 pandemic, giving artists a chance to show work in people’s windows while galleries were closed. Transforming the street into an outdoor exhibition.
Street Gallery was funded by East Durham Creates and supported by Durham University.
Paul Cochrane is a photographer and filmmaker whose upbringing in the North of England combined with a Fine Art degree in London have been major influences on his photographic practice. For him, creating honest images of people from all walks of life begins with communication. Making people feel comfortable with the camera and enabling them to be themselves is what makes his photography unique and intimate.
