Artist Biography
Fierce Fine Art is a multi-disciplinary artist whose current focus predominantly lies in drawing. A sculptor by training, her drawings reflect this heritage through the isolation of the key figure within the drawing frame.
Born in the Wiltshire town of Devizes, Fierce Fine Artist went on to study Fine Art at Nottingham Polytechnic and eventually settled in Leeds in 1997.
Fascinated by subtle clues within objects, actions and the body that speak of the human experience, Fierce Fine Artist works in a broad range of media to capture fleeting moments of lives and relationships; creating work that speaks widely of the human condition. Her work has explored depression, sibling rivalries and relationships, parenting, roles and expectations of women and girls, housework, growing up, miscarriage, menopause, and birth, and has been described as challenging, brave, honest, and moving.
She was shortlisted for the Trinity Buoy Wharf drawing prize in 2021 and The Ruth Borchard Portrait Prize on-line exhibition in 2023.
