The Sea was Dark, an Exhibition by Sarah Hardy-Box

27th October 2017

Memories are fluid by nature. Emotions, conversations, the passing of time, and a whole host of internal and external factors impact memories to the point where we might not recall our experiences quite as accurately as we think. We can even ‘remember’ things that never happened as our minds try to fill in details that are missing. Memories become layered, with some elements being obscured completely, some shrouded in haze, and others rising to the surface.

‘The Sea was Dark’ is a collection of paintings, collages and film photographs that explore the fluctuating, multi-layered narratives that form our memories.
