Done Up North Furniture Painting
Saturday 10th March 2018 10am-4pm
In this workshop Nicky from Done up North will take you through the process of preparing furniture ready to paint, brush-stroke free painting, as well as techniques for creating geometric patterns in her distinctive style.
This is a hands on workshop and where you will work on your own piece (agreed in advance) after learning the basics and getting a chance to practice techniques on sample boards.
All of the equipment needed will be provided. No experience is necessary and all abilities are welcome. Wearing clothes suitable for painting is a good idea or bring an apron.
You’ll be working with Fusion Mineral Paint, a specialist furniture paint that gives beautiful results and is easy to work with but is non-toxic, lead free, virtually odourless and has no volatile organic compounds (VOC) and contains no ammonia or formaldehyde. You’ll get a chance to use some of the 50 different colours as well as metallics in their range.
Fusion Mineral Paint has a matt finish and built-in top coat but you’ll also explore and test the different finishes you can use additionally to enhance your project, such as oil, polyurathane and wax.
The sample boards, examples of finishes you create and a starter kit of brush, tester pots of colour and finish to help you complete your project are yours to take away.
Refreshments will be available during the workshop and lunch will be provided. Please let us know if you are vegetarian or have any other dietary requirements upon booking.
Maximum of 8 and minimum of 4 people per workshop (over 16s only)
We can also accommodate workshops for groups or parties such as birthdays, hen parties, etc. and can also combine this with Afternoon Tea. Please call us to discuss!
